Journalist and royal author Angela Levin has written a new book which follows the course of Camilla’s journey “from outcast to Queen Consort”. This is not her first step into royal publishing, having also released a book on “Harry: Conversations with the Prince” (2018) and on “Diana’s Babies: Kate, William and the Repair of a Broken Family” (2015).
Her upcoming book, titled “Camilla: From Outcast to Queen Consort” is due to be published on September 29.
This is 10 days after the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II, which will also be a bank holiday, and three days after the end of the official Royal Mourning period.
Commenting on the upcoming release, Mrs Levin said “it tells [Camilla’s] amazing story”.
She added in a post on Twitter: “Roll up, roll up.”
The book is unlikely to pass without at least a little criticism.
During her affair with the then Prince of Wales, Camilla was often labelled “the other woman” in the marriage between Charles and Diana, then the Princess of Wales.
At the time of the royal couple’s very public separation, divorce was frowned upon in a way it is not today.
It was long whispered that Camilla, because of this affair, could not become Queen Consort upon Charles’s accession to the throne.

There were even questions over Charles’s ability to take the throne.
All these matters were settled earlier this year when, in her Platinum Jubilee message, Elizabeth II expressed her wish that Camilla should become Queen Consort.
Her Majesty said: “When, in the fullness of time, my son Charles becomes King, I know you will give him and his wife Camilla the same support that you have given me.

“And it is my sincere wish that, when that time comes, Camilla will be known as Queen Consort as she continues her own loyal service.”
Charles responded that “we are deeply conscious of the honour represented by my mother’s wish”.
He added: “As we have sought together to serve and support Her Majesty and the people of our communities, my darling wife has been my own steadfast support throughout.”
When time reached its fullness and Her Majesty passed away last week at the age of 96, Charles immediately became King.
In his first speech as monarch, Charles III made special mention of his wife and praised her “steadfast devotion” to her duties.
He said: “This is also a time of change for my family. I count on the loving help of my darling wife, Camilla.
“In recognition of her own loyal public service since our marriage 17 years ago, she becomes my Queen Consort.
“I know she will bring to the demands of her new role the steadfast devotion to duty on which I have come to rely so much.”
