Murder investigation as woman, 78, found dead –police swoop on home after horror car crash

West Mercia Police said that a 48-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the investigation. The 78-year-old’s body was discovered following a call out to a car crash on Eye Lane, Moreton Eye near Luston.
The force said they had received a report of a collision with a telegraph pole on the street at 8am this morning.
Officers responded to the call and “following enquiries” attended an address in Hereford alongside members of the West Midlands Ambulance Service.
It added in a statement: “Sadly, a 78-year-old woman from Hereford was found dead at the address.”
The death is now being investigated as a murder and the man held in connection “remains in custody”.
Officers remain at the scene while enquiries are ongoing.
Eye lane sits alongside the small village of Eye, in the Herefordshire countryside.
It sits in between Leominster and Ludlow, approximately a 35-minute drive from Hereford.
