Murder investigation after body of teenager with stab wounds found in Coventry

Police have launched a murder investigation after a teenager was stabbed to death in Coventry.

His body was discovered in grassland, off Petitor Crescent in Wood End, at around 7pm on Wednesday by a passer-by who called the emergency services.

The victim, believed to be in his teens, had suffered multiple stab wounds to his torso and was declared dead at the scene by paramedics.

The area has been cordoned off as officers carry out fingertip searches and forensic examinations of the area.

West Midlands Police said enquiries are under way to identify the victim.

It has appealed for anyone who might have seen something suspicious, or people running away from the scene, to get in touch.
