A mother charged with the murder of her two teenage sons has appeared in court.

Sarah Barrass, 34, is accused of murdering Blake Barrass, 14, and 13-year-old Tristan Barrass.

It follows an incident in the Shiregreen area of Sheffield on Friday.

Barrass is also charged with three counts of attempted murder against two other children.

She appeared alongside Brandon Machin, 37, who is also accused of murdering Blake Barrass and Tristan Barrass.

During the 10-minute hearing at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court, the defendants spoke to confirm their names, dates of birth, addresses and nationalities.

They are due to appear at Sheffield Crown Court on Tuesday.
