A skyscraper in Moscow has been attacked for the second time in two days, the city’s mayor has said.

One drone ‘flew into the same tower at the Moskva City complex’ which was attacked on Sunday.

Several other drones were shot down by air defence systems.

The exterior of the building was damaged but no injuries have been reported, BBC reports.

It was the fifth attempt at a strike on the capital region this month and the fourth this week.

Surveillance footage appears to show the moment the drone struck the building.

Smoke is also seen coming from the skyscraper in a video shared in the early hours of this morning.

Sergei Sobyanin, the mayor of Moscow, said ‘glazing was destroyed over 150 square metres’.

Russia’s defence ministry has blamed Ukraine for what they have claimed is a ‘terrorist attack’.

They said two more Ukrainian drones were shot down elsewhere in the capital’s region.

Vnukovo airport was briefly closed, Russian news agencies reported.

Mykhailo Podolyak, adviser to Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky, tweeted there would be ‘more unidentified drones, more collapse, more civil conflicts, more war’ in Russia as the war enters its 18th month.

The attack on Sunday left a security guard injured after three drones targeted the city.

One was shot down by air defence systems and two others were jammed and crashed in the Moscow City business district.

The attacks have fuelled concerns about Moscow’s vulnerability to attacks as Russia’s war in Ukraine drags on into its 18th month.

Russia has also accused Ukraine of carrying out a drone strike on the Kremlin in May.

Ukraine has not claimed responsibility for any of the incidents.

But President Volodymyr Zelensky said attacks on Russian territory are an ‘inevitable, natural and absolutely fair process’.
