WASHINGTON – More countries, communities and economic sectors are not only recognising the threat of global warming or climate change, but are also beginning to act on it, said United Nations Development Programme chief Achim Steiner.

But he warned that for all the pledges, the global community is still far from where it should be to limit global warming to 1.5 deg C above pre-industrial levels.
