Moment brazen thief is caught stealing Christmas presents from doorstep

Thief takes kids Christmas presents at front door

A mum has says she caught a thief stealing her son’s Christmas present from her doorstep.

Michelle Richardson, who lives in Cables Wynd House in Leith, Scotland, has released the video captured by her doorbell cam of a man taking her son’s Celtic strip from outside her flat.

She slammed the “disgraceful” behaviour of the alleged thief – and also said the delivery company was partially at fault for the incident which took place on Sunday November 26, reports EdinburghLive.

Michelle said: “It is absolutely disgraceful, we had been out when the package had been delivered and we had a look at the ring doorbell footage when we saw it being taken – it is just terrible.

“It was a Celtic strip for my son’s Christmas as he loves the club, so now that is money down the drain.

“It’s just really disappointing, you don’t expect people to do that. I have also contacted the delivery company as well because I had instructed them that if I was not in my flat to take it, the parcel should not have been left either.”

The incident happened after Evri left the parcel on her doorstep – with the delivery company apologising to the family. JD Sports has refunded the item and Michelle has praised the company’s customer service.

Express.co.uk has approached Evri for a comment.

An Evri spokesperson told EdinburghLive: “Our people are working incredibly hard to safely deliver over three million parcels a day and we apologise to any customers whose standard of delivery falls below our expectations.
