Minge Lane's bushes are being trimmed and we don't know why people are laughing
Foliage on Minge Lane is getting a well-deserved trim – much to the delight of everyone.
Worcestershire County Council’s highways team posted about the maintenance work being carried out in Upton upon Severn, on X, formerly Twitter, on September 29.
The council wrote: ‘Tree maintenance works today at Minge Lane, Upton-upon-Severn.’
People on social media were quick to see the funny side to the post, with Neil Crudington posting: ‘I hope they don’t fanny around.’
Sebastian responded to the post and said: ‘Never mind the trees have you seen the state of the bush!’
And @misterDan_92 posted: ‘I’ve always thought it could use a trim.’
We have been covering stories of massive bushes in need of a trim for many years here at Metro.
A woman was ordered to chop her bush which grew so big it left her neighbours in the dark in 2018.
Susan Rogers’s bush grew to a whopping 40ft high and 100ft long which forced some neighbours not to use their front rooms anymore because of the darkness in Yr Aran, Dunvant, South Wales.
Swansea Council received complaints from some of the neighbours and Susan was told to reduce the height of her bush to nearly half its length.
Another woman was forced to pose naked and trim her bush to get the council to finally chop theirs after two years of growth.
Jill White, from Tatworth, campaigned for Somerset County Council to fix the foliage next to the busy A358 road near her home last year.
She said because of the overgrowth her daughter struggled to use the pavement in her wheelchair.
Jill stood by the road with her placard which read: ‘I’ve trimmed my bush, now Highways trim yours.’
Two county councillors confirmed work to cut the hedge and clear the footpaths started following the naked protest.
