Mind-bending artwork shows a woman hiding among the patterns
At first, you might think the picture you’re looking at is some sort of AI-generated room. But upon scrolling through the second and third pictures below, you’ll realise the room, with a man standing in it, is real. In fact, it was designed by the man in the pictures – Japanese artist Shigeki Matsuyama – as part of an art installation called Narcissism Dazzle room.
Another thing you might not have initially spotted is the woman. In the photos, there’s actually a model who is so well camouflaged it’s not obvious she is there.
But perhaps more mind-boggling than the woman in the photos, is the 3D shapes you might spot. They’re not actually there.
The room is designed so that when you notice the woman, you see her in the wrong places as the patterns create obscure 3D shapes.
Dazzle Room was said to be inspired by the camouflage used during the first world war to disguise them.

But upon shaking your head, you discover what lies beneath.
