Mike Graham attacks Liberal Democrats leader Ed Davey ‘hopeless attitude’ in brutal rant

Ed Davey was appointed as an acting co-leader of the Liberal Democrats following the 2019 general election which saw Jo Swinson, who was the leader of the party going into the polls, lose her seat and stepped down as a result. TalkRADIO host Mike Graham criticised Mr Davey for his “hopeless attitude” towards the European Union.

Mr Graham said: “Ed Davey sent out a tweet saying this ‘Just arrived back from Brussels for the last time as an EU citizen before Brexit. A sad moment’.

“Let me tell you Ed you were never an EU citizen, nobody was.

“You can’t have an EU passport, you can’t belong to the European Union as a nation.

“It is not a nation, it is a collection of nation states.

“You’re a British citizen, you were a British citizen and you remain a British citizen.”

He added: “The people of this country thought your useless policies and hopeless attitude towards the European Union was so useless that they didn’t even want your leader Jo Swinson re-elected.

“So the Lib Dems are a busted flush Ed I’m afraid.

“So nobody cares what you think, nobody is interested in your attitude about the European Union.

“Sad doesn’t really quite cover it.”

Yesterday British MEPs were given a standing ovation during their final committee appearance in European Parliament.

Italian politician and former President of the European Parliament Antonio Tajani called for appreciation of his British colleagues during a committee on constitutional affairs.

Mr Tajani and the rest of his European colleagues then gave a standing ovation to the British MEPs who looked touched by the gesture.

Mr Tajani said: “I would like to express our deep appreciation to our British colleagues who will be leaving the Parliament.

“This will be the last voting committee and you will no longer be sitting next to us for our future work.

“I would like to express my gratitude to all my British friends from all political groups for their commitment and positive contributions to the work of this committee.

“I would like to give all of our colleagues a round of applause.

“You will be missed.”
