The royal couple, who rarely post on social media, shared a lovely photo on Instagram last night to coincide with the weekly Clap for Carers campaign. Mike and Zara both wore matching T-Shirts for the picture, which featured a large rainbow and thank you message. Rainbows have been used as a symbol of peace and hope during the coronavirus pandemic, and it has been revealed the royal couple wore the tops for this very special reason.

Mike posted the image to his Instagram page, with the following caption: “Thank you to everyone working in the @nhs @kindred_social is raising money for the NHS through these t-shirts.

“If you would like one please go to www.bekindbekindred.com thanks #clapforourcarers #clapfornhs”.

The picture showed the pair standing outside their Gatcombe Park home in Gloucestershire.

The T-shirts cost £20, with all proceeds going directly to NHS Charities Together.

There are two designs to choose from and the tops are also available for children and toddlers.

Royal fans were delighted the couple had chosen to support such a worthwhile cause.

One person said: “Mike and Zara thank you so much for your support.

“A truly great cause and greatly appreciated.

Many others commented on the post to say they had just purchased the T-shirt.

The company making the tops also commented, and wrote: “Thank you so much you gorgeous pair for rocking the rainbow.

“We really appreciate your support.”

The rainbow became a symbol of hope from the start of the UK’s coronavirus lockdown, with hundreds of colourful pictures being put in people’s windows.

The many pictures of rainbows also serve to cheer up passers-by and act as a reminder that there is hope and light to follow even in dark times.

Zara Tindall celebrates her 39th birthday today.

She is likely to have spent the day with her family, as she isolated with daughters Mia, six, and Lena, one.
