Michelle Dewberry swears at Femi Oluwole as she loses her temper over no deal Brexit
Michelle Dewberry lost her temper with the Remain campaigner on Thursday, saying she felt “frustrated” over the blocking of a no deal Brexit. Femi Oluwole argued the 2016 Brexit referendum was not “specific” enough, while Ms Dewberry contended no deal is a “formal set of arrangements”. Speaking on Sky News’ The Pledge, the ‘People’s Vote’ campaigner began: “As a matter of law, the deal we’ve just negotiated fulfils the referendum mandate.
“So if you don’t like that, clearly the referendum in 2016 wasn’t specific enough.”
Panellist Maajid Nawaz interjected: “Practically what’s going to happen in three weeks after Parliament comes back from conferences and we have three weeks with whoever the next Prime Minister is, likely to be Boris.
“What can we possibly achieve in this three weeks?”
Gesturing towards Mr Oluwole, Ms Dewberry hit back: “But I feel so frustrated, like I said I respect your position, but it frustrates me.
“Because at the end of the day, the situation is we did vote and you will be bored of hearing people repeat this sentence, but we voted to leave the European Union.
“Now what is no deal? It’s a formal set of arrangements, now if people had taken that seriously and businesses understood what these arrangements look like.
“Because when you say no deal it’s making out like there’s nothing there, there are formal arrangements.
“And if it was communicated and documented properly, businesses could prepare for that. And it’s this to’ing and fro’ing and blocking of this.
“And it really f**** me off. Sorry but it does.”
The fiery comments come as Chancellor Philip Hammond is leading a rebellion of 30 Tory MPs plotting to stop a no deal Brexit in October, according to Sky News.
The informal group have held three meetings since Theresa May announced her resignation as Tory leader and Prime Minister, over how to prevent the UK crashing out of the European Union on October 31.

Cabinet ministers David Lidington and David Gauke, who have have been strong opponents to a no deal Brexit, are active in the group. Two sources told Sky News that over the next three weeks, the group will look to secure a date in October on which MPs can control the agenda and force through the legislation.
Meanwhile, Boris Johnson and Jeremy Hunt are entering the final straight in the race to become the UK’s next Prime Minister. The victorious candidate will have just three months to deliver Brexit by the October 31 deadline set by the European Union.
Leadership frontrunner Mr Johnson has warned he will get the UK out of the bloc by then “do or die”. Foreign Secretary Mr Hunt will decide at the end of September whether to continue Brexit talks with Brussels or resort to a no deal withdrawal option.
But the EU has insisted the withdrawal agreement struck with Theresa May will not be re-negotiated, providing the new Prime Minister with a huge headache.
