Michael Gove coronavirus fears as minister coughs and splutters throughout Marr interview
Mr Gove coughed aloud several times and appeared to be trying to suppress a cough on other occasions during his interview. The cabinet minster was later questioned about the cough, after Prime Minister Boris Johnson had to go into self-isolation this week when he tested positive for coronavirus.
Health Secretary Matt Hancock also tested positive on Friday, while Chief Medical Officer Chris Whitty has gone into self-isolation after showing symptoms.
Viewers on social media signalled their alarm at the cabinet minister’s repeated coughs on the BBC programme.
One commented: “Gove on Marr trying not to cough, get in the house man!”
Another simply said: “Did Michael Gove just cough three times?”
