The artwork will carry the name of every fallen NHS and healthcare worker.

Their memory will be remembered with the inscription: You laid your love for those in life. Your sleep is no in vain.

It is proudly supported by the crusading Daily Express, which has championed our treasured NHS and health and social care system for decades.

Spearheaded by Tory MP Dean Russell, the sculpture will feature two intertwined trees with 400 leaves, each individually hand-sculpted.

It also will feature catkins, which chime in the wind.

The 400kg memorial will have roots tumbling down over bronze rocks, in a poignant representation of eternal life.

Daily Express readers have been unwavering in their support of the NHS for generations and their generosity is well known.

This newspaper has launched a campaign to fundraise the £250,000 needed, with National Lottery operator Camelot matching public funding.
