Melania Trump: Justin Trudeau’s mum delivers surprise verdict on PM’s kiss with FLOTUS
The viral photograph taken at the G7 summit in France last month captured the First Lady leaning in and pecking the Canadian Prime Minister on the cheek while President Donald Trump looked away sour faced. Mr Trudeau’s mother, Margaret Trudeau, laughed merrily about the viral photo with her son in an interview with The Daily Beast. The author claimed “the photograph was cute”, before pointing out the larger context of the situation.
She said: “But it was one flash, one moment. A picture tells a story but doesn’t tell the whole story.”
Ms Trudeau added: “Donald Trump was right in front of Melania, she was getting ready for a cheek-peck I guess.
“They have met before. They have a friendship.”
She went on to claim Mr Trudeau and his wife Sophie “like Melania very much”.
Ms Trudeau claimed her son “is a tall glass of milk” and “everybody likes to look at someone nice”.
The ex-wife of former Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau went on to admit she didn’t know much about Melania.
She added she did not know her personally, but “there’s an aloofness and quietness that means we don’t know much about Melania”.
While she saw the photo as indicative of nothing more than a friendly gesture, she admitted she “cannot imagine” what it would be like to be Trump’s wife.

Ms Trudeau went on to wish Melania could influence the President in a positive way.
She said: “I wish she’d talk to her husband. I think she’s in charge of an anti-bullying campaign.
“Perhaps she should share some of her wisdom with him.”
Referring to Melania appearing to swat away Trump’s hand, Ms Trudeau suggested the role of the First Lady is evolving.

She added: “ It can even be to the husband’s detriment if his wife is by his side.”
Ms Trudeau elaborated First Ladies “don’t have to be standing next to our husbands beaming”.
She added they can be “strong women” living their own lives and give support to their partners in terms of being married but “not being their clone or servant”.
The author added First Ladies should not be “responsible” for what their partners are saying.
Ms Trudeau reinforced her dislike for Trump, claiming the prospect of him winning the 2020 US election was “scary”.
After the photo of Melania and the Canadian prime Minister was captured, it went viral on Twitter with the hashtag #MelaniaLovesTrudeau.
In a savage attack on at Trump, singer John legend tweeted the picture.
He captioned the image: “Ah yes, Melania is otherwise occupied.”
Legend’s Twitter fury was in response to a late night tirade from Trump, who targeted targeted the singer and his wife Chrissy Teigan.
Trump was responding to an NBC interview with Legend about criminal justice reform in the US.
The President appeared to take offence at the show, seemingly for not getting enough credit for signing a bill that increases the chance for offenders to become eligible for parole.
Trump tweeted: ”Guys like boring musician @johnlegend, and his filthy mouthed wife, are talking now about how great it is, but I didn’t see them around when we needed help getting it passed.”
