Meghan receives another award as she’s recognised for her podcast Archetypes

Meghan Markle has received a Gracie award for her 12-episode podcast, Archetypes. The 41-year-old’s podcast series debuted last year, with the Duchess taking a break from uploads during the period of mourning after the death of Queen Elizabeth II. On Tuesday evening, Meghan was honoured at the Gracie Awards – though she did not attend the awards ceremony in person.

The Duchess of Sussex picked up the award for the ‘Best Podcast Host’ for her series.

Her podcast series, which launched last August, aimed to “dissect, explore and subvert the labels that try and hold women back”.

Each episode explored a new ‘archetype’ and the Duchess was joined by a new guest in each episode.

Meghan released a statement in March, following the news that she had received the award, that said: “Thank you to the Alliance for Women in Media Foundation for this prestigious honor.

“This is a shared success for me and the team behind Archetypes – most of whom are women – and the inspiring guests who joined me each week.”

The award comes just a week after the Duchess of Sussex received the Ms Foundation Women of Vision Award.

This award, which Meghan collected in person, was in recognition of her “global advocacy to enpower and advocate on behalf of women and girls.”

Meghan attended the awards ceremony, which was held in New York, with Prince Harry and her mother Doria Ragland in tow.

Collecting her award last week, Meghan gave a speech – in which she stated that she was “inspired and driven”.

Meghan said: “It’s never too late to start. You can be the visionary of your own life… There is still so much work to be done.

“I am a woman who remains inspired and driven by this organisation.

“It allowed me to recognise that part of my greater value and purpose in life was to advocate for those who felt unheard, to stand up to injustice, and to not be afraid of saying what is true and what is just and what is right.”

Fans of the Duchess have taken to Twitter to express their pride for the former actress in collecting a second award.

One user wrote: “Congratulations Duchess Meghan on your Gracie award for Archetypes.”

Another wrote: “So proud of Meghan for winning a Gracie Award for her podcast.”

A third wrote: “Meghan Markle remains kind and positive even when faced with unfounded negativity. You are an inspiration to so many. Congratulations on your Gracie Award!!!.”
