Derek Ursacki, who worked as an assistant director on the US legal drama, Suits, is the latest celebrity and former colleague of Meghan to come to her defence. The Canadian based director, photographer and writer spent five years working with the Meghan on Suits, calling her “a pleasure to work with.”

Taking to social media the director said he “felt compelled” to speak out in support of the Duchess of Sussex.

Sharing some behind the scenes photos on Instagram, Mr Ursacki wrote: “She was always a pleasure to work with and was always kind with a huge heart, easy going, humble even after the fame of the show and her popularity skyrocketed, so full of life, so giving, supportive and funny.”

The former suits director, has been involved in the industry since the late 90s, and recently worked on the gritty, Amazon Prime, superpower show ‘The Boys’.

In the Instagram post, Mr Ursacki wrote of how he was saddened by the topics discussed in the historic tell-all interview with Oprah.

“It broke my heart to see the interview Sunday night where she talked about things being so bad she did not want to live anymore,” said Mr Ursacki.

The director also took a swing at the British media for their “attack” on the Duchess of Sussex.

“The media has been so ruthless towards her with so many negative stories attacking her without really knowing what she is truly going through,” continued Mr Ursacki.

“Until you walk a mile in someone’s shoes nobody should judge or make negative comments about anyone and nobody should have to live under constant attack and fear for their safety.”

Before the historic interview with Oprah Winfrey, Meghan’s Suits co-star, Patrick J Adams, took to Twitter in a similar act of support.

In a written attack against the Royal Family on Twitter, Mr Adams lashed out at Buckingham Palace, calling the institution “archaic and toxic.”

Screenwriter and producer, Kate Sargeant also came to Meghan’s defence, calling the actions of the Palace: “Straight up evil.”

Mr Ursacki continued: “In my heart of hearts I know Meg has not changed and is the still the sweet person I worked with for those 5 years.
