Meghan Markle’s royal baby could have VERY English birthday if born TODAY

The Californian native, who has taken on many new British traditions since marrying into the Royal Family last year, is due to give birth this month. While the exact due date has not been confirmed, there is a chance the royal baby could be born today, on St George’s Day. Ladbrokes set odds of 5/1 that the new royal will arrive on April 23, which will also coincide with Prince Louis’ first birthday.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “All eyes are on Meghan Markle right now and if the latest odds are anything to go by, royal punters won’t have to wait much longer to meet the happy couple’s first born.”

An overdue arrival could mean Princess Charlotte’s fourth birthday on May 2 could be shared too.

St George’s Day is the annual day of remembrance for the English patron saint and is marked with parades and street parties.

The day is also known as the Feast of Saint George and marks the solider who fought in the Roman army.

He then became a personal guard to the Emperor Diocletian.

The traditional story says the saint also slayed a dragon and saved a princess.

A statement from Kensington Palace two weeks ago revealed Meghan and Prince Harry have made the “personal decision” to welcome their child privately.

Once they have celebrated with their close family, royal fans will then be treated to more details such as the gender and name of the baby.

The statement said: “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very grateful for the goodwill they have received from people throughout the United Kingdom and around the world as they prepare to welcome their baby.

“Their Royal Highnesses have taken a personal decision to keep the plans around the arrival of their baby private.”
