Meghan Markle’s Archetypes podcast has been nominated for a prestigious People’s Choice award, it was announced on Wednesday. Listeners have been invited to cast their vote in the Pop Podcast of 2022 category, with the winner being unveiled on December 6.

Archewell’s head of audio Rebecca Sananès shared the news of the nomination on her Instagram story.

She wrote: “#Archetypes is nominated for a People’s Choice Award. If you like our show, please vote!”

Archetypes has featured a number of high profile guests on its first series, from Mariah Carey to Mindy Kaling and Paris Hilton.

After the death of the Queen in September, Meghan revealed she would not be uploading any new episodes until after the mourning period was over.

The Duchess of Sussex faces some stiff competition, as she is going up against Anything Goes with Emma Chamberlain, Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard and Call Her Daddy.

Other nominees in the category include Conan O’Brien Needs A Friend, Not Skinny But Not Fat, SmartLess and Why Won’t You Date Me? with Nicole Byer.

In the latest episode of Archetypes Meghan discusses the stereotype of the ‘angry black woman’ with actress Issa Rae and talk show host Ziwe.

The trio talk about why the trope exists and how women, specifically women of colour, are portrayed in the media.

The Duchess also let slip an old habit that she has taken back up since returning to the US.

She admitted she had resumed the “ritual” of drinking coffee after stopping while she was living in the UK.

Meghan said about why she started again: “I guess because life started to come back and when guests come… and you have meetings… It’s a ritual.”
