Meghan Markle’s little-known acting jobs before she became a star in Suits

Before getting her big break on Suits, Meghan Markle had lots of small roles in soap operas and movie blockbusters.

The Duchess of Sussex started her career as an actor in 1995 on the set of Married…with Children and General Hospital, the shows her father was director of photography and lighting for.

She went on to have small roles in shows such as CSI: Miami, 90210, Without a Trace, Fringe and ‘til Death. She also did a 34-episode stint as a briefcase girl on Deal or No Deal.

Meghan also had parts in films including the Robert Pattinson drama Remember Me, Jonah Hill comedy Get Him To The Greek and Jennifer Aniston comedy Horrible Bosses.

She joined the cast of legal drama Suits in 2011, playing the ambitious and talented paralegal and then attorney Rachel Zane.

The Duchess starred in the show for seven years alongside Gabriel Macht and Patrick J Adams, who played her love interest Mike Ross.

Filming over 100 episodes for the popular series, she reportedly earned £37,000 per episode.

Meghan will have continued to earn money from her time on Suits in the form of residuals and royalties.

The show is on the NBA Peacock streaming platform and Netflix, where it remains one of the most popular series.

Her other last acting roles before starting to date Prince Harry in 2016, were as Cassandra Brand in romcom Dater’s Handbook and Kristen in crime film Anti-Social.

The Duchess’ earnings helped the couple buy the $21million 16-bedroom estate in Montecito, California, which they bought after stepping back from their roles as senior royals.

According to Forbes, Meghan contributed an estimated $2million and the rest came from Prince Harry’s inheritance from his mother Princess Diana.
