Meghan Markle’s ‘decision’ on future that’s ‘divided’ her and Prince Harry

Meghan Markle’s dad wants to ‘put the past behind’ them as he makes public plea

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly having a difference of opinion on how often they want to return to the UK for visits.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex quit as working royals to carve out a new life together in California.

But the couple had originally kept their UK home Frogmore Cottage on the Windsor estate. The property had been gifted to them by the late Queen and the pair stayed there while in Britain following the former Monarch’s death.

Earlier this year, it was revealed that Harry and Meghan had been served their eviction notice on Frogmore Cottage and after the Coronation, they handed back the keys to King Charles.

On his most recent visit to the UK earlier this month, it is believed Harry stayed at a hotel after being denied a room at Windsor Castle.

However, despite their accommodation issue in the UK, a source close to Harry claimed the Duke of Sussex plans to make return visits to his homeland in the future, however, Meghan is not so keen.

Speaking to The Sunday Times, the friend explained: “Not having anywhere isn’t overly helpful. There are friends and hotels, but I know they would like to have somewhere.

“Meghan seems to have decided that coming back more is not what she wants to do, but Harry would like to. Having a base in his home country, despite everything that has happened, is appealing.

“There is work to be done here in terms of the charities, and there would be opportunities in the future where he’ll want to be here a bit more.

“If they could have kept Frogmore, they would have done — it was the perfect setup for them. When he last stayed there, he did a whole load of clearing out, and he was sanguine about it but pretty sad.”

Meanwhile, it has been reported that the Duke must “give notice” whenever he wants to visit his father King Charles after he was denied a room to stay in at Windsor Castle earlier this month.

It has been reported that the Duke of Sussex – who lives in Montecito, California, after he and Meghan stepped down as senior Royals in 2020 – must seek permission if he wants to visit the King and stay at any royal properties.

He was reportedly denied the room at Windsor Castle at the start of September when he flew to London for the WellChild Awards before jetting off to Dusseldorf, Germany for the 2023 Invictus Games.

It is claimed that the Duke asked if he could stay at Windsor while his father was staying at Balmoral in Scotland.
