Exactly two months since Meghan’s second child Lilibet was born, Meghan’s birthday celebrations will be ‘low-key’. But she has reportedly hired one of Hollywood’s most sought-after party planners Colin Cowie, who has worked with the likes of Oprah Winfrey, Jennifer Anniston, and Kim Kardashian-West.

A majority of 59 percent of voters thought Meghan and Harry will splash out more than £100,000 on her birthday party in a poll of 7,551 people held between 12.17pm August 3 and 9.40am August 4.

Only six percent of voters thought the day would cost less than £10,000, 13 percent thought the celebrations would cost between £10,000 and £50,000, while 22 percent said the event would price somewhere between £50,000 and £100,000.

A large number of people thought the birthday party would cost more than a quarter of a million pounds.

Harry and Meghan’s Netflix deal is suspected to be bringing them in almost one million pounds a week, so a quarter of a million-pound party would not be off the cards.

A huge 99 percent of our readers are happy for Meghan and Harry to stay in the USA for birthday celebrations, as they said she should not celebrate her birthday with the Royal Family, 69 people (less than one percent of voters) said she should.

One reader joked: “NO! Can you imagine the conversations!?”

SaraMay added: “Should a nursing mother drag her whole family to Britain just to celebrate her 40th? What a foolish idea.”

Another reader said: “Meghan, have a lovely birthday, spent just the way you want it, just not here.”

Most people thought no members of the royal bloodline would be invited to her party, taking 92 percent of the vote, whereas two percent thought she would invite some, and five percent were not sure if she would or not.

A reader said there is “no need for her [Meghan] to celebrate with the Royal Family.”

Meghan’s 40th is set to be very different to most senior royal birthday celebrations, as the Queen and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge usually make a public appearance.

However, when asked if a royal birthday is a national event or a private occasion, 86 percent of people said it is private, compared to just five percent of people who said it is a public event, and nine percent of people who were not sure.

One reader said: “The monarch’s birthday is a national occasion, and we can get a day off – whoopee – but really does anyone care about these two?”
