Meghan Markle warned ignoring advice from Michelle Obama key career ‘mistake’
Meghan Markle opened up about the pressure she has been facing in her first year as Duchess of Sussex in a candid interview during her stay in South Africa last month. The Duchess reportedly is believed to have received advice from former First Lady Michelle Obama to “listen and take advice” at first but made the “mistake” of not heeding the suggestion, commentator Angela Levin claimed. Speaking to Sky News, the royal expert said: “Michelle Obama told the press she had a long talk with Meghan – they’d become friends – and she said to her, ‘for goodness’ sake, don’t do anything in the first year. Listen, take advice, take it easy.’
“Meghan said that she wants to get going straight away. I think that was a mistake – she hasn’t understood what it’s like being a member of the Royal Family.
“That is very important to her.”
The Duchess of Sussex admitted she has found it “hard” to get used to her new status and lamented the lack of “fairness” in public scrutiny she has faced.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have repeatedly come under fire earlier this year after the couple talked about their concerns about the state of the environment – only to later be accused of hypocrisy for boarding at least four private flights to and from Europe within 11 days to go on holiday.

Ms Levin added: “The reason why the public are not always happy with what they’ve said is that they say one thing and they tell us what to do but they do something different. Flying in private jets, etc.”
The interview Meghan gave, which was part of the ITV documentary ‘Harry and Meghan: An African Journey,’ is believed to have sparked concern in Prince William for his brother and sister-in-law.
Speaking to The Times after the film aired, a source close to the brothers said: “They have been in touch — as family members would.”
The Duke of Cambridge – and second-in-line to the throne – is also said to be hoping Meghan and Harry “are all right”.

The royal insider claimed the Duke of Sussex has been experiencing an unsettled period in his life due to the big changes he has faced in his personal life over the past year.
The source continued: “This is a new chapter for the Duke of Sussex.
“He has got a new wife, a new kid, a new home and a new office and is putting together the plan to launch his own foundation.
“That is both a lot of change and evidence that they are both on very divergent paths.

“One of them has had a pre-destined path, and the other hasn’t.

One Palace figure also claimed senior royals, including the Queen and Prince Charles, have “gone out of their way” to try to help the Duchess of Sussex feel more comfortable as a new member of the Royal Family.
The insider told the Standard: “I know that the Prince of Wales has several times reached out to Meghan.
“They get on and share a love of music too. I know he invited her to a preview of an exhibition at the palace.
“The Queen has been a source of strength too and invited them both to Balmoral where family problems are usually aired.”
