Meghan Markle unseen wedding pictures: Did Meghan SNUB Kate from wedding pictures?
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex celebrated one year of marriage with a special post to the Sussex Instagram account on Sunday. The couple wed on May 19, 2018, in a spectacular televised ceremony at Windsor Castle’s St George’s Chapel. Harry and Meghan only recently welcomed their first child Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor but took the time to address fans for their anniversary. Their latest post to the Sussexroyal Instagram account included a gallery of never-before-seen photos from the big day, with one noticeable absence.
Did Meghan Markle deliberately leave out Kate Middleton?
The gallery post to the Sussex Instagram came with candid photos from behind the scenes at the wedding.
Most photos were of Meghan and Harry preparing for their walk down the aisle, and some select pictures of Harry and William together as they made the journey to St George’s chapel.
In the few group pictures for the day, Kate Middleton and other senior royals were nowhere to be seen, but this was not a deliberate slight against them.
Kate Middleton was not included in the wedding album as she was not a member of the wedding party.
The images show wedding party members such as Harry with his best man William, and Meghan with her Maid of Honour.
Kate was simply a guest of the bride and groom, and although she is important, she did not have a role in the wedding.
This is also the reason why Queen Elizabeth II and the other senior royals were not included.
Harry and Meghan included a message with the social media post thanking revellers for making the day special.
In a caption, they wrote: “A message from The Duke & Duchess: Thank you for all of the love and support from so many of you around the world.
“Each of you made this day even more meaningful.”
The photos were released just hours after the Cambridge household released their own collection of candid family snaps from Kate Middleton’s Chelsea Flower Show garden.
The close proximity of the release has prompted many to believe this is evidence of competition between Meghan and Kate.
One royal commenter said: “It was a case of anything you can do, we can do better.”
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were pictured playing with their young family at Kate Middleton’s specially designed garden.
Louis – now one-year-old – could be seen walking without the aid of his parents, and the other royal children took turns on a rope swing.
Kate designed the “Back to Nature” garden with the help of award-winning landscape architects Andrée Davies and Adam White.
