Meghan Markle ‘thinks Oscar would be in her future’ in acting comeback – insider
Meghan Markle’s Suits character lays law on new employee
Meghan Markle “thinks an Oscar would be in her future” with the Duchess of Sussex currently in talks with “big name directors and producers” as she plots a huge acting return an insider has claimed.
Meghan and Prince Harry are now thought to be on different career paths. The Duke of Sussex is focusing on his upcoming Heart of Invictus documentary with Netflix, but the world is eagerly awaiting the duchess’s next move.
She has been tipped to make a return to acting after rising to stardom in US legal drama Suits before meeting Harry. The series smashed several Nielsen viewing records this year, accounting for 18 billion minutes of viewing on streamers in July.
Now the 42-year-old is being told there is a demand for her to make a dramatic return to Hollywood, according to one insider.
They told Life & Style Magazine: “Suits is such a hit in reruns that Meghan’s being told there’s a demand from fans to see her act again. She’s excited.”
“While she’d love to land a new TV part, Meghan really wants to sink her teeth into a dramatic film role. She thinks an Oscar would be in her future.”
Meghan first rose to stardom by starring as Rachel Zane in the hugely Suits, appearing for more than 100 episodes before quitting in 2017 following her engagement to Harry.
The former actress also had roles in films such as Remember Me and Horrible Bosses.
A return to acting may have been seen by many as extremely unlikely but speculation has been growing she could decide to make a return to the big screen.

The insider claimed after rejecting a number of acting offers since meeting her husband, she is now “talking to some big-name directors and producers”.
The source told the outlet: “She’d gotten a bunch of offers over the last five years, but turned them down because she really was trying to embrace royal life and, later, forge a new path behind-the-scenes in Hollywood with Harry.”
“But now that’s all changed. With other opportunities drying up, she’s actively looking for roles and talking to some big-name directors and producers.
“Harry is 100 percent supportive of all of it. Acting is what Meghan knows and what she’s always loved.”

This comes with Meghan reportedly planning a major relaunch in her career that one insider said could take many by surprise.
The source told Page Six: “Meghan and the team are working hard. I think it will be surprising, it won’t be what everybody is expecting it to be, it will feel familiar to who Meghan is.”
The Sussexes suffered a blow earlier this year when their £18million deal with Spotify, which she and Prince Harry signed after stepping away from the British Royal Family, was mutually ended.
They were then humiliated when a top Spotify executive furiously branded the couple “grifters”.
Meghan and Harry also signed a bumper multi-year deal with Netflix and released a six-part series last December that broke viewership records for the online streaming giant but it was still snubbed from the prestigious Emmy Award nominations.
Harry is said to be focusing on his Heart of Invictus documentary that hits Netflix on August 30 and will also reportedly travel to Africa to film another documentary.
Meghan is yet to make any announcements about her next career move, but next month will join her husband in Dusseldorf, Germany for the Invictus Games, which Harry himself founded in 2014.
