Duncan Larcombe unleashed the scathing attack on Meghan Markle during the latest episode of The Royal Beat. Mr Larcombe referred to the Duchess of Sussex’s voting plea as patronising and joked that she is enjoying a position higher than the Pope.
Mr Larcombe said: “Is it just me or when you watch Meghan do things like that it feels like someone is holding up a cheese grater to my ears?
“I know there is a place for this, and many people think oh Meghan yes I am going to go and vote now, not for Donald Trump by the way.
“But for me it is so irksome, that patronising tone of I know best.
“She was a pretty average actress, now she is enjoying a position higher than the Pope by the looks of it.”
Meghan Markle said regarding voting during an online appearance for When All Women Vote: “We vote to honour those who came before us and to protect those that come after us, that’s what community is all about and that’s specifically what this election is all about.
“You’re just as mobilised and energised to see the change we all need and deserve. This fight is worth fighting and we all need to be out there mobilising to have our voices heard.”
She continued: “If you aren’t part of the solution, you’re part of the problem. If you are complacent, you are complicit.
“We can make a difference in this election and we will make a difference in this election.”
Royal expert Rachel Bowie told Royally Obsessed podcast: “The Queen has previously encouraged people to vote.
“This is not a new thing and it is not partisan, Meghan is just saying vote, which is really important that everybody votes.”
Ms Bowie added: “She never endorsed any candidate, while you can make inferences about which candidate she is voting for.
“Obviously she did not come out and openly say that, she was politically neutral.”

Previously Piers Morgan tweeted regarding Meghan Markle’s voting plea: “The Queen must strip the Sussexes of their titles. They can’t remain as royals & spout off about foreign elections in such a brazenly partisan way.”
He added: “Last time I checked she’s still calling herself the Duchess of Sussex.”
Mr Morgan said in a separate tweet: “She can do what she likes, she just can’t make politically partisan statements while remaining Duchess of Sussex.
“The royals are not allowed to do that. If Meghan & Harry truly want ‘freedom’ from royal duty & rules, they should stop trading off their royal titles.”
Meghan Markle has not signalled who she will be voting for in the upcoming elections.
