Meghan Markle SNUB: ‘She DOESN’T READ bad headlines’ – Friends hit back at ‘Difficult’ tag
Meghan has faced a string of negative reports since marrying Prince Harry last May, including rumours she has been dubbed “Duchess Difficult” and ongoing claims of a rift with Prince William and Kate. But two of the US-born former Suits star’s friends have spoken out to defend her in interviews with CBS broadcaster Gayle King. American actress Janina Gavankar said: “She doesn’t read the bad or the good because… she knows the metrics that you have for your own life cannot be based on a headline that somebody else wrote.”
Meghan’s makeup artist Daniel Martin broke down in tears as he spoke about the 37-year-old.
He said: “I know she doesn’t deserve all of this negative press.
“What’s so frustrating is that you hear these stories and there’s no truth to them.
“It’s not the same person. In the years I’ve known her, the years I’ve worked with her, she’s never had a diva fit, never.”
Daniel, Janina and Gayle all attended Meghan’s star-studded New York baby shower earlier this year, which attracted widespread criticism for its extravagance.
The interviews are part of a CBS special report, Meghan and Harry Plus One, which airs tonight.
It follows the birth of the Sussexes’ first child Archie last Monday.
Meghan and Harry kept arrangements for the birth private and many details still remain a mystery, including the hospital and medical team.
In a departure from recent royal tradition, Meghan did not pose outside hospital with her newborn.
Instead, the couple showed off their tot to the world two days later in a stage-managed photocall at Windsor Castle.
Meghan and Harry moved from next door to Prince William and Kate at Kensington Palace to Frogmore Cottage in Windsor ahead of the birth.
