Mrs Mulroney, a Canadian stylist, posted a photo to her Instagram page with the bunch of flowers that the Duchess of Sussex sent her. The large bouquet had pink roses in a glass vase. A note attached to the flowers said: “Luckiest friend, thanks MM.”

Mrs Mulroney defended her friend Meghan after the controversial Oprah Winfrey interview.

The Canadian stylist spoke of the Duchess of Sussex’s “kindness, empathy, and love”.

Mrs Mulroney also said that no one has ever dealt with “pressure and politics” like the Duchess of Sussex.

However, last August the Canadian stylist was involved in a bitter race row over a Black Lives Matter post.

The post saw claims that she was using her “white privilege” against a black social media influencer.

After the incident, there were reports the Duchess of Sussex had cut ties with Mrs Mulroney.

The incident involved the online influencer Sasha Exeter.

Mrs Exeter accused Ms Mulroney of “threatening her livelihood” when she posted a Black Lives Matter call-to-action on Instagram.

Ms Exeter said that Mrs Mulroney “took personal offence” when she uploaded the Black Lives Matter post.

Then Ms Exeter said Mrs Mulroney sent private messages that had left her “paralysed with fear”.

In the written exchange between Mrs Mulroney and Ms Exeter, Mrs Mulroney wrote: “I have also spoken to companies and people about the way you have treated me unfairly.

“You think your voice matters.

“Well it only matters if you express it with kindness and without shaming people who are simply trying to learn. Good luck.”

Ms Exeter posted the messages online, and then added, “well aware of her wealth, her perceived power and privilege because of the colour of her skin”.

Ms Exeter then added: “For her to threaten me?

“A single mother, during a racial pandemic?

“Blows my mind, it is absolutely unbelievable.”

It was then claimed the friendship between the two women was no longer “what it once was”.

It was reported that this was not because of the Black Lives Matter incident, but because they have “just grown apart”.
