Meghan Markle ‘scouring agencies’ for American male nanny with THIS salary – ‘Why not?’
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are reportedly searching for an American male nanny, claimed the correspondent. Gavin Grey also suggested the nanny would be “discreet and not starstruck”, with a salary of “around £70,000”. The Studio 10 Royal Correspondent said: “Lots of speculation that they might go for a Norland nanny because that’s what in the past lots of Royal Family members have done. Certainly Kate and Will have got a Norland nanny. This is a college of nannies here in the UK, very well respected.
“But actually, it is being rumoured what Prince Harry and Meghan are now looking at is for an American nanny and, wait for it, possibly a man.
“Well why not I guess? Apparently the recruitment agencies in America are being scoured for somebody that might be suitable.
“I would suggest it is somebody who is discreet and not starstruck, and a salary of around £70,000.”
Referring to predictions surrounding the royal birth, Mr Grey added: “The reason the bookmakers are so useful in some sense to this is that actually, they are often right.

“The reason they are often right with the odds is that obviously within the Royal circle lots of people work for the Royals, so with something like a birth, they do get the odd tip off of when a birth might be.
“And let’s face it, some of the royal assistants are not paid a huge amount, dare I suggest it, that one or two tongues might wag.
“And there is a few quid to be made by a bookmaker if you can be fairly predictive with where you are going with it.”
A source also told the Daily Mirror Meghan was actively searching for a US compatriot to provide childcare, saying the Duchess “favours an American over a Brit”.
There’s also a chance Meghan and Prince Harry could hire a male nanny or “manny” – which would be a first for the royal family.
The source said: “They are keen to explore the possibility of a male nanny.”
While royal family members have traditionally hired specially-trained Norland nannies who are famed for their unique brown uniforms, Meghan may opt for a less formal carer.
The source said: “Meghan and Harry have clear ideas on how to bring up their children.
“Meghan was clear in telling recruiters she favours an American over a Brit and wants them to feel part of the family rather than a uniformed member of staff.
“That is important to her, she’s never hidden the fact she is fiercely proud of her American roots.”
Meghan is due to give birth any day now and due to the strong likelihood of a home birth, Ladbrokes have suspended betting on where the birth will take place.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “We know the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are keeping things private but we’re confident Meghan will give birth at home and have suspending betting as a result.”
Speculation of when Meghan will give birth remained high yesterday, after an ambulance was spotted near Frogmore Cottage.
But it was a false alarm with South Central Ambulance Service confirming the ambulance sighted was a driver training vehicle.
The royal baby’s arrival is still said to be imminent, with Ladbrokes slashing the odds on Meghan giving birth this weekend to just 7/2.
Mr Apati said: “All eyes are on when and where Meghan Markle will give birth and the latest odds suggest it could be as early as this weekend.”
