Meghan Markle pregnant: Second baby on the way THIS YEAR?
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were all smiles when they welcomed baby Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor earlier this year. But in an interview with British Vogue last month, which was guest edited by the Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry revealed he only plans to have a maximum of two children. As the number of royal babies for the couple currently stands at one, could the pair be expecting a second baby by the end of this year?
Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, and Prince Harry are odds-on with Ladbrokes to announce another pregnancy this year.
Standing at a 2/1 shot last week, the bookies have now slashed the odds to just 4/6 on a second royal baby coming next year.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Harry and Meghan have made it clear they want to add to their family and the odds suggest the pair are in a hurry to give Archie a brother or sister.”
Another recent clue has also arisen to suggest the couple could be looking to welcome another baby very soon.
Royal author Katie Nicholl told Entertainment Tonight Prince Harry and Markle are “loving parenthood” and want to give Archie a sibling soon.
She said: “I think it’s probably a little premature to be speaking about a second baby.
“That said, sources close to the couple told me that they really would love to have a big family.”
The author noted how the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are “amazing parents” to Archie.
Ms Nicholl added: “They absolutely want siblings for Archie, so possibly we will have a pregnancy announcement for Meghan and Harry sometime next year.”
However, it may be a little early for Meghan Markle to be thinking of having another baby, as she only gave birth to baby Archie on May 6 this year.
Although the bookmakers are confident Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will announce another pregnancy in 2019, the royal pair are very busy with their newest arrival.
With baby Archie in tow, the royal parents have recently taken trips to Ibiza and Nice.
Their use of a private jet has drawn criticism from some for its environmental impact, after Prince Harry said in his British Vogue interview the Earth is “borrowed”.
He added: “And, surely, being as intelligent as we all are, or as evolved as we all are supposed to be, we should be able to leave something better behind for the next generation.”
Elton John has waded into the debate, defending the Duke of Sussex, tweeting on Monday: ‘I am deeply distressed by today’s distorted and malicious account in the press surrounding the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s private stay at my home in Nice last week.
“Prince Harry’s Mother, Diana Princess Of Wales was one of my dearest friends.
“I feel a profound sense of obligation to protect Harry and his family from the unnecessary press intrusion that contributed to Diana’s untimely death.”
