Royal expert Jonathan Sacerdoti has noted how Meghan Markle has always been highly ambitious and always put the work in to ensure she secured success. When it came to her personal life, the commentator said marrying Prince Harry provided a huge boost to her “reputation and international exposure” – something that would have taken a lot of “planning” to achieve.
Mr Sarcerdoti said the relationship may have ensued completely innocently and in a romantic fashion, but said Meghan must have been aware of what she was getting into.
He told Sky News: “She grew up with, with high ambitions and started to reach them as an actress – putting in the work, obviously not a terribly successful actress in terms of being well known internationally.
“She then married Prince Harry and then she has become probably one of the most known or recognisable names in the world just by marrying somebody.
“I think that shows an enormous amount of planning and ambition.
“I don’t mean to be totally unromantic – maybe she did fall in love with Harry, maybe their relationship is also one of partnership and love in that respect.
“But you don’t marry into the Royal Family, I think, without knowing what it’s going to do to your reputation and your exposure internationally.
“And then I think they’ve used that to their advantage, many would say is there is their right.”
But despite the expert’s comments, Meghan has previously claimed she didn’t know much about the Royal Family before dating Prince Harry.

During the couple’s bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey, the Duchess said: “I didn’t grow up knowing much about the Royal Family.
“It wasn’t something that was part of conversation at home. It wasn’t something we followed.”
Meghan was an actress before meeting the Duke, starting her career in her 20s.
She appeared as a briefcase model on Deal or No Deal, starring for one series between 2006 and 2007.

The show saw each of the models wear skimpy outfits and heels as they prepared to open their briefcase and reveal a sum of money.
Meghan went on to land small supporting roles in a number of films, including Get Him to the Greek, Remember Me and Horrible Bosses.
But she rose to fame after joining the Suits cast in 2011, where she played Rachel Zane for seven of the nine seasons.
Meghan decided to retire from acting after the announcement of her engagement to Prince Harry in November 2017.
Meghan and Harry met for a blind date in the summer of 2016, with the pair quickly hitting it off.
In November they announced news of their relationship, with the engagement hitting the headlines just 12 months later.
Harry and Meghan then wed at St George’s Chapel, Windsor, in May 2018.
