Meghan Markle news: Will Meghan break maternity leave to watch Prince Harry at Polo event?
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry welcomed around 25 close friends and family members to celebrate the baptism of their two-month-old son Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor on Saturday. Ahead of the christening the Duchess of Sussex made a surprise appearance at the world-famous Wimbledon tennis tournament to watch her close friend Serena Williams play. Prior to giving birth, Meghan reportedly said she planned to take a three-month maternity leave from royal engagements and duties following the birth, but the new mother has made four appearances during the time. So is it possible Meghan will once again break her maternity leave and appear to watch her husband Prince Harry at his polo event tomorrow?
Prince Harry and Prince William are expected to attend their first joint event this year since rumours of a rift between them, at a polo match due to happen tomorrow.
Each of the royal brother’s are due to take part in the polo day named after the late Leicester City owner Khun Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, who died in a tragic helicopter crash in October.
The polo event is set to be the first joint event the brother’s have both attended, after concerns about tensions between them were somewhat allayed during baby Archie’s christening on Saturday.
The brother’s wives Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle are also rumoured to be feuding, rumours that were further fuelled when the sister-in-laws last week chose to attend Wimbledon on separate days, despite attending together the year before.
Speculation about the tensions between the “fab four” has intensified after a turbulent year, beginning with Prince Harry and Meghan’s wedding last year and concluding with the Sussexes decision to leave the Royal Foundation.
Kate and Meghan reportedly first fell out ahead of last year’s royal wedding in an apparent row over Princess Charlotte’s bridesmaid dress.
The tensions between the pair reportedly grew when Harry and Meghan’s moved away from the Kensington Estate to Frogmore Cottage in Windsor.
Most recently, the couples have separated their charitable institutions, with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex confirming that they were to leave the Royal Foundation, set up by William and Harry in 2009, with Kate joining two years later.
The Sussexes will instead start their own charity while Prince William and Catherine, will stay with the original, renamed the Royal Foundation of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
But royal fans believe the relationship tensions between the two couples have somewhat smoothed over after the foursome were spotted smiling at the royal christening.
So is it possible that Meghan Markle will join her brother in law and husband at the polo event tomorrow?
While it is not confirmed whether Meghan will attend as she is still officially on maternity leave, it is very possible she will make a surprise appearance.
The three times since baby Archie’s photocall on May 8 that Meghan has been spotted, have been surprise appearances.
The first time she appeared at the Trooping the Colour to celebrate the Queen’s official birthday.
Her next two appearances were at sporting events: the Boston Red Sox vs New York Yankees baseball match and Serena Williams and Kaja Juvan Wimbledon match.
So it is very possible that the next time Meghan makes a public appearance will be at yet another sporting event.
The polo event where Prince Harry is due to appear tomorrow will take place at Billingbear Polo Club in Berkshire and will raise money for 15 charities backed by the pair.
