Meghan Markle news: Meghan SHUNS royal tradition by choosing THIS for baby Archie

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, welcomed Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor on May 6. The couple have already shunned tradition by declining a royal title for their son. They’re also reportedly planning on raising him as ‘normally’ as possible in the public eye.

And now, Meghan’s chosen something else for Archie which defies royal tradition.

For generations, the royals’ pram of choice has been the Silver Cross.

Carrying royals from the Cambridge children and the Queen herself, Silver Cross prams have a long history with the Royal Family.

The classic Silver Cross Balmoral Pram will set you back a cool £1,800.

But Meghan has opted for the more modern option from Bugaboo Fox.

The prams are the new favourite with parents, and costs around £1,200.

The top-of-the-range pram was reportedly a gift to the Sussexes while Meghan was still pregnant.

A source revealed the Duchess, 37, has been using it around Frogmore Estate while she enjoys her maternity leave with Archie.

The source said: “Meg is loving being a mum.

“She looks great and she’s enjoying these precious newborn weeks.”

The source added how “lucky” Meghan feels and said she’s “recovered well” from the birth.

Meghan has taken on the majority of the childcare duties now Harry is back at work and her mum, Doria Ragland, is back in the United States.

They have reportedly decided not to hire a nanny at this stage.

But not everyone thinks this is a wise move.

Royal commentator, Victoria Arbiter, told 9Honey: “Royal mums often say they don’t want nannies and you can understand why.

“Like any mother, they want to be hands-on, they want to be present for all of their baby’s milestones.

“They will need to bring someone into their home to help.

“Harry and Meghan, like William and Kate, are going to need someone they can trust, that they can rely on and someone that’s discreet enough they can welcome into their home.”
