Meghan Markle ‘looks like a fool’ for never addressing ‘BS’ claims

Prince Harry and Meghan slammed for ‘unfair racism charge’

Meghan Markle “looks like a fool” after Prince Harry described alleged comments by a Royal Family as “unconscious bias”, according to commentator Megyn Kelly.

The topic has dominated headlines again in recent days after a bombshell leak revealed she corresponded with King Charles over her concerns about unconscious bias in the Royal Family.

It came two years ago after her interview with Oprah Winfrey, during which the Sussexes alleged an unnamed member of the Royal Family questioned the skin colour of their unborn son Archie.

According to Sky News contributor Ms Kelly, Meghan now “looks like a fool” for making these allegations as Harry has had to “wind it back”.

She told Sky News Australia host Paul Murray: “It is unbelievable how she [Meghan] created this whole racial firestorm for the Royal Family.

“She sat with Oprah, she clearly injected the issue of race…it turned out to be BS.”

It comes days after correspondence emerged with King Charles addressing unconscious bias concerns in the Royal Family – a story which prompted a statement from the Sussexes.

The leak emerged weeks before the Coronation, which Meghan confirmed she will miss to look after her children in Montecito.

King Charles reportedly wrote to Meghan following her Oprah interview to address her scathing claims made about her son.

Meghan acknowledged that the comment was not intended to be malicious, the leak reported in the Telegraph claimed.

But she has distanced herself from the leaked report.

A statement posted by Harry and Meghan’s biographer Omid Scobie on behalf of Meghan’s team read: “The Duchess of Sussex is going about her life in the present, not thinking about correspondence from two years ago related to conversations from four years ago.”

Prince Harry has publicly spoken out the claims.

When asked by Tom Bradby if he would class the Royal Family as racist in an interview ITV, he replied: “I wouldn’t, not having lived within that family.

“There was – there was concern about his [Archie’s] skin colour. The difference between racism and unconscious bias, the two things are different.

“But once it’s been acknowledged, or pointed out to you as an individual, or as an institution, that you have unconscious bias, you therefore have an opportunity to learn and grow from that in order so that you are part of the solution rather than part of the problem.”

Buckingham Palace was forced to respond to the damning allegations two years ago as pressure mounted for it to break its silence.

Its statement read: “The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan. The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning.

“While some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately. Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much-loved family members.”
