Meghan Markle latest: Why Meghan didn’t ‘twist Harry’s arm’ over ‘move to Hollywood’

Recent reports have indicated Meghan Markle and Prince Harry jetted over to LA from Canada last month, before the borders closed due to coronavirus. The couple are said to be making LA their home for the foreseeable future.

As of March 31, Meghan and Harry are no longer senior working members of the Royal Family.

The couple will remain as members of the family, but will no longer complete official engagements on behalf of the Crown.

Little is known about the Duke and Duchess’ future plans, but the couple did announce on Instagram earlier this year they would be dividing their time between the UK and North America.

And according to The Sun, a lifelong friend of Meghan said it wasn’t “even that hard to persuade” Harry to swap the UK for LA.

The source told the publication: “This is the ideal result for her – she comes back to Hollywood with a prince to flaunt and getting to pick and choose who she wants to work and socialize with rather than the other way around.

“I think she always wanted to be back here, she always dreamed of the full-blown Hollywood lifestyle and this kind of clout.

“And I don’t think it was even that hard to persuade him.”

The Hollywood move was said to have appealed to Harry, and Meghan didn’t have to “twist his arm” for him to agree.

The source added: “Harry was wrapped around her finger even when she was just a USA actress.

“She then was able to extend her circle thanks to their relationship and bring names like Oprah and Serena Williams to their wedding.

“He was smitten and star struck over the whole thing.

“I don’t think she had to twist his arm to move to Hollywood.”

  • Meghan and Harry chose March 31 to quit Royal Family for ONE reason

Details surrounding Harry and Meghan’s future ventures have not yet been revealed.

The couple is believed to be holding back on any announcements due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Although Harry and Meghan will be free to pursue their own income from March 31, they will still be subjected to a 12-month review period by the Royal Family.

The couple will formally be keeping hold of their His and Her Royal Highness (HRH) titles, but they will no longer be using them as they are not senior royals anymore.

Harry, Meghan and their son Archie are expected to be in attendance for future Royal Family events, such as Trooping the Colour.

But the family is no longer obligated to carry out royal engagements, and they will no longer receive funding from the Sovereign Grant.

According to reports, Meghan’s first post-royal venture is a voiceover role for a Disney documentary on elephants.

The Duchess’ fee for the project is believed to be donated to the anti-poaching charity, Elephants Without Borders.
