Meghan Markle and Prince Harry recently moved to North America after stepping down as senior members of the Royal Family on March 31. While they were originally going to move to Canada, they changed their minds and settled in Los Angeles when the lockdown began, staying at Tyler Perry’s Hollywood mansion. Since then, the couple have bought their own property and moved to Montecito, an affluent neighbourhood of Santa Barbara in July.
Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, also lives in California, in nearby Los Angeles, and will surely be glad to be close to her daughter.
And this week, the mother and daughter will be celebrating a very special occasion – Doria’s birthday.
Although it is still unclear what the family have planned for the occasion, Doria living so close by means they will undoubtedly celebrate together.
Doria resides in a house in the View Park-Windsor Hills neighbourhood of LA, located between Culver City and Inglewood.
Mother-of-one Doria inherited the property from her father when he died in 2011.
However, Meghan and Harry’s new property has its very own guest house, with plenty of space for Doria, prompting fans to wonder whether or not she will move in.
While that has not been confirmed, she is likely often at the house spending time with her 15-month-old grandson, Archie.
And that is not the only thing the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be raising a glass to this week.
It was revealed that Harry and Meghan have landed a huge deal with streaming platform giant, Netflix.
Industry insiders said the deal could be worth as much as £150million.
The couple have founded a production company, yet to be named, which will make documentaries, feature films, scripted shows and children’s programmes, reports the New York Times.
In a statement, Harry and Meghan said: “Our focus will be on creating content that informs but also gives hope.

“As new parents, making inspirational family programming is also important to us.”
They added that Netflix’s “unprecedented reach will help us share impactful content that unlocks action”.
Their shows and content will be exclusive to Netflix, which has a tremendous 193million subscribers worldwide.
While Harry and Meghan may appear on screen to host documentaries and other similar ventures, the former Suits actress has made it clear she will not resume acting any time soon.
Ted Sarandos, Netflix’s chief content office and co-chief executive, said he was “proud” the Duke and Duchess had decided to opt for the deal.
Mr Sarandos said: “We’re incredibly proud they have chosen Netflix as their creative home and are excited about telling stories with them that can help build resilience and increase understanding for audiences everywhere.”
Rumours of Harry and Meghan seeking for work in Hollywood have been rife ever since they left London.
Meghan’s first job as a free woman was as a narrator of the Disney Plus docuseries Elephants, which was released in April.
