Meghan Markle and Prince Harry stepped down as senior royals at the end of March – and are now living in North America with one-year-old son Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor. The couple are living independently from the Royal Family, and have changed the way they interact with the public, with charities and even on social media.

The couple are working on a not-for-profit initiative named Archewell – a name derived for the Greek word Arche – meaning action.

Meghan and Harry also explained it was this word which inspired their son’s name.

Speaking to the Daily Telegraph, the Sussexes said: “Before SussexRoyal, came the idea of Arche—the Greek word meaning source of action.

“We connected to this concept for the charitable organisation we hoped to build one day, and it became the inspiration for our son’s name.

“To do something of meaning, to do something that matters.

“Archewell is a name that combines an ancient word for strength and action, and another that evokes the deep resources we each must draw upon.”

The Sussexes have been very active on social media since their wedding in May 2018, and most recently Meghan collaborating with Save the Children UK for Archie’s birthday.

The Duchess released a video reading the book Duck! Rabbit! to her son.

Does Meghan have Instagram?

Before entering the Royal Family Meghan had both an Instagram account and also regularly wrote in a blog named The Tig.

However as her relationship with Prince Harry grew more serious, Meghan deleted both of these.

She shut down The Tig in April 2017 and took all of its articles offline.

Meghan then later deleted her social media accounts in January 2018.

Once the couple was married, they shared an Instagram account with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, under the handle KensingtonRoyal.

Then, in March of 2019, Meghan and Harry split their household from Kate and William, with separate staff and offices and eventually a separate Instagram account.

This account, under the SussexRoyal handle, is the only Instagram account both Meghan and Harry have.

The SussexRoyal account is where Meghan and Harry share their charity work, champion organisations and make their followers aware of causes close to their hearts.

Their SussexRoyal page has a staggering 11.2million followers, some of which were surprised when no tribute to the couple’s anniversary was posted on Tuesday.

Meghan and Harry celebrated their second wedding anniversary on Tuesday, May 19 – but unlike their first anniversary did not share pictures to commemorate the day.

Instead, the couple reportedly spent the day quietly “as a family.”

A source close to the couple told BAZAAR: “The day will simply be quality time with one another and as a family.

“They’re not going to be doing any work and made sure they have no meetings or calls in the diary.”

The couple are currently living in Los Angeles, where they are in isolation amid the coronavirus outbreak.

The source explained of Meghan and Harry’s anniversary: “Like everyone else, they are in lockdown at the moment, so they will just be hanging out together at home. But it will still be a lovely day.”
