Meghan Markle in ‘panic mode’ over ‘dwindling royal connection’
Meghan Markle is currently in “panic mode”, as the 42-year-old struggles to cling on to the royal connections she once had, one royal source has claimed.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex moved to California after making the decision to step down as working royals in 2020.
With the pair having not made a public appearance with the royals since the late Queen’s funeral last September, their “royal currency is dwindling”.
With this being said, Meghan and Harry are reportedly attempting to “hold on to their connections” in order to fund their lifestyles.
Speaking to Closer, a source explained: “Meghan and Harry are in panic mode and it’s becoming clearer and clearer that their royal currency is dwindling which is having a knock-on effect on their Hollywood careers.
“They both know full well that their success rests on their royal connections.”
The source added: “Being snubbed from King Charles’ birthday celebrations was a huge wake-up call that the Royal Family is no longer prepared to put on a façade in a bid to fund their Hollywood lifestyles.”
Focusing on Harry, the source also added that the King’s youngest son is keen for the couple to “stand on their own two feet”.
But Meghan, who officially joined the Royal Family in 2018, feels as though they slowly being “phased out”.

Speaking to the publication, the source added: “[Meghan] says she won’t be seen as two-faced but they will need to make an effort to hold on to their connections.
“It’s a difficult balance and it’s definitely causing tension.”
Since stepping down as working royals, Meghan and Harry have had it far from easy – with them having been dealt many blows – particularly in their careers.
Earlier this year, Meghan and Harry announced the end of their multi-million-pound deal with Spotify.
