The work, ‘Finding Freedom: Harry and Meghan and the Making of a Modern Royal Family’, deals with Meghan and Harry’s decision to stand down as senior royals and move to America. It is written by royal experts Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand.

The eagerly anticipated work will be available to the public from next month.

However the price on Amazon has already been reduced from £20 to £13.60.

Harry and Meghan shocked the world back in January when they announced their intention to stand down as senior members of the royal family.

Instead the couple pledged to become “financially independent” and to split their time between North America and Britain.

Following negotiations with other royals they agreed to drop their “Sussex Royal” brand and to repay the taxpayer money spent refurbishing their former Frogmore Cottage home.

After a couple of months in Canada Harry and Meghan moved to Los Angeles ahead of the coronavirus lockdown.

Los Angeles has been badly hit by the COVID-19 epidemic and recently had many of its lockdown measures, such as the closure of bars, re-imposed.

The city was also briefly placed under curfew last month after protests against the killing of George Floyd turned violent.

Currently Meghan and Harry are living in a Beverly Hills mansion owned by Hollywood legend Tyler Perry.

They were spotted delivering supplies of food to vulnerable LA residents during the pandemic.

Mr Scobie, co-author of the new book, is the London based royal editor for Harper’s Bazaar.

He is known for his strong connections with younger members of the royal family including the Duchess of Sussex.

Carolyn Durand, the second co-author, has spent nearly 20 years in London covering major royal developments and other events.

Promotional literature for the new book states: “When news of the budding romance between a beloved English prince and an American actress broke, it captured the world’s attention and sparked an international media frenzy.

“But while the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have continued to make headlines – from their engagement, wedding, and birth of their son Archie to their unprecedented decision to step back from their royal lives – few know the true story of Harry and Meghan.

“Finding Freedom goes beyond the headlines to reveal unknown details of Harry and Meghan’s life together, dispelling the many rumours and misconceptions that plague the couple on both sides of the pond.

“With unique access and written with the participation of those closest to the couple, Finding Freedom is an honest, up-close, and disarming portrait of a confident, influential, and forward-thinking couple who are unafraid to break with tradition.”

Separately a report in the Daily Mail claimed the bells of Westminster Abbey won’t be rung to celebrate Meghan’s birthday next month as is the custom for senior royals.

They will however be rung to commemorate Princess Anne’s birthday just 11 days later.

Back in February they were also rung for Prince Andrew’s birthday despite him having already stepped down from frontline royal duties.

A spokesman for Westminster Abbey said: “The bells are usually rung to mark the birthdays of senior members of the Royal Family, and through the line of succession to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their children.”

On March 9 Harry and Meghan carried out their last official royal engagement when they attended the Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey.
