A 14-year-old mourner had come to pay her respects to the Queen when the Duke and Duchess of Sussex turned up to read messages left for Her Majesty on Windsor Castle grounds. The young girl spoke to reporters about what an amazing moment it was when she waited for Ms Markle to walk past her and speak to her. The 14-year-old claimed everyone was cheering her on to give Ms Markle a hug and explained that she could not describe how it felt when she did, but it felt “really nice.”

The 14-year-old Meghan Markle supporter said: “We were just waiting for her to come and she came near me and asked my name, and how my day was, how long I was waiting.

“And I asked her if I could have a hug and she hugged me back so… That was just quite an amazing moment.

“I’m still shaky now, I can’t really explain what the feeling was when she did it but… It was really nice.

When asked why she felt like she wanted to hug the Duchess of Sussex, the teenage royal fan explained “I don’t know it just went through my mind, everyone was cheering me on too.

“I guess I felt like I needed to in a way like I just really wanted to at least hug her because I look up to her in some ways and it just felt like it was the right thing to do.”

The young teen agreed when asked if she believed that Ms Markle has been through a lot.

The Duchess of Sussex made a surprise visit with her husband Prince Harry and the Prince and Princess of Wales yesterday evening and Windsor Castle.
