Meghan Markle has hinted at possible tensions with members of the Royal Family. The Duchess spoke of a “complicated time” following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
Her Majesty died on September 8 at what is understood to have been among her favourite residences.
Prince Harry and Meghan were already in the country at the time, though the Duke of Sussex travelled to Balmoral alone on the day of his grandmother’s passing.
The royal couple were together in attending the Queen’s funeral, the state event becoming the most watched in history.
Both Prince Harry and Meghan followed behind Her Majesty’s coffin as it entered Westminster Abbey.
In her latest interview, this time with Variety magazine, the Duchess appears to have suggested there were some tensions between herself and other members of the Royal Family at this time.
Meghan said: “I feel deep gratitude to have been able to spend time with [the Queen] and get to know her.
“It’s been a complicated time…
“But my husband, ever the optimist, said, ‘Now she’s reunited with her husband’.”
