Meghan Markle will suffer public dislike for “stealing our prince” said caller Sam. It has been claimed that other members of the Royal Family were not aware of the couple’s decision, and felt “hurt” by the statement they issued.

Speaking to Iain Dale on LBC, Sam said: “Harry was the most popular royal this country has had for many years.

“He had the humility of his mother. He married a woman who was welcomed to this country with open arms, a beautiful lady, and it was a wonderful wonderful wedding. We wanted her and him to be happy.

“Then she decided to be a prima donna; by accounts of newspapers she sacked all sorts of nannies, all sorts of bodyguards and we started to disrespect her.

“That’s where it all started, her behaviour of normal people.”

Sam went on to say Harry is a “puppy dog and his little eyes fluttered and off he went with his wife and now he is completely under her control. He was a real ambassador, he and his brother were the future.”

Host Iain Dale noted Prince Harry is allowed to make his own decisions.

But the caller hit back: “Like a lot of guys, he follows his bits and bobs. I think bits and bobs do a lot these days.”

It comes as Royal photographer Arthur Edwards MBE warned the Sussexes their plan “isn’t going to work”.

Speaking to Sky News, Mr Edwards said: “I was shocked rather than surprised. I knew this was coming when they went off for six weeks to America.

“I’ve never known a member of the royal family to just take six weeks off like that and hop off to another country.

“During that time we never heard a peep from them. There was not one paparazzi picture, not one story and the first we knew where they were was when they put the picture of Archie on their Twitter feed at Christmas.

“When the message came out last night I thought, ‘what’s he doing?’ Not consulting the Queen or his father and he should get on a plane and talk to them.

“Now he’s got this thing about the press and he’s going to kick us all off the rota and he’s only going to deal with papers that are friendly to him.

“It’s not going to work. I just wonder who is advising him. Good luck Harry!

It comes as a furious LBC caller accused the Duchess of Sussex of “controlling” Harry after the royal couple decided to step down as senior royals.
