Meghan Markle had ‘loads of fans’ waiting on Suits set after filming

Meghan Markle curtsies in Suits episode

Meghan Markle had “loads of fans” that would wait for her outside of the set of Suits while she was filming the final season of the hit show in 2018 before she married Prince Harry, her ex co-star claimed.

Meghan, 41, was especially during her time working on the show.

Colin Grafton, 31, a former Dancing on Ice star, appeared on Suits several times in series six and revealed Meghan had a huge following.

He told the Mirror: “I think she had just started dating Harry at the time, but she had a lot of fans already like outside that were waiting for her.”

Colin, who didn’t know who Meghan was at the time, added: “I think that was the point she was dating Harry, but it wasn’t public knowledge yet.”

Colin admitted he landed his role by chance after bumping into Gabriel Macht, who played the lead character Harvey Specter, in the bathroom.

Without prior knowledge of the programme, he knew he would have a chance to impress if he wore a nice suit.

It worked as he said the director told him: “We need you front and centre in the scene!”

Meghan starred in several procedural US dramas including both CSI Miami and CSI New York during her impressive acting career.

Her most famous role was as paralegal Rachel Zane in Suits, but things could’ve been so different after she previously confessed she nearly botched her audition for the part.

It comes after the Duchess has been honoured with a Women of Vision Award by the Ms Foundation for Women — the oldest women’s foundation in the US.

She will be handed the award on May 16 for her “global advocacy to empower and advocate on behalf of women and girls”.

Journalist Gloria Steinem, who helped found the organisation in 1972, will lead the presentation.

Previous recipients of the Women of Vision Awards include former US Secretary of State Clinton, Belgian fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg and Academy Award-nominated director Ava DuVernary.

It comes one week after Meghan’s podcast series Archetypes was given a Gracie Award by the Alliance for Women in Media Foundation.

Accepting the prize, the Duchess said in a statement: “Thank you to the Alliance for Women in Media Foundation for this prestigious honour.

“This is a shared success for me and the team behind Archetypes – most of whom are women – and the inspiring guests who joined me each week.”
