Meghan Markle fury: Duchess ‘very frustrated’ as Palace to ‘clamp down’ after brutal scam

Meghan Markle gave birth to her first-born son, Archie Harrison, in May this year, but has since been targeted by a bogus online campaign. The online adverts for ‘Keto Weight Loss’ suggested the Duchess’ post-pregnant weight loss was due to diet pills. Speaking on ITV’s Lorraine, royal commentator James Brookes claimed the Duchess would be “very frustrated”, adding Buckingham Palace will “try to clamp down on it”.

He said: “If I read one of the quotes to you, one of them read ‘I am no different to any other woman in the world, post-pregnancy, my body had lost its shape but with ‘Keto body tone’, I came back, no women deserve to be out of shape’.

“Now, Meghan is smart, she would not want to put her own words to that kind of thing, at least without running it by someone.

“Understandably very frustrated. I think there will be some backlash from the Palace to try to clamp down on it.

“We have seen in recent months, they have been very strong when it comes to social media, and trying to combat that online abuse.

“I think that will be another branch of this, and like you say, she is not the only one.”

According to the Sunday Mirror, Buckingham Palace has vowed to stop the fake ads, with one royal source adding “action will be taken”.

A royal source told the paper: “This is obviously not true and an illegal use of the Duchess’ name for advertising purposes.

“We will follow our normal course of action.”

First Level Fitness posted a fake quote on its site, which said: “Post-pregnancy my body had lost its shape.

“But, with keto body tone, I came back.”

In another of the adverts, using a bogus Entertainment Today interview, Meghan is quoted endorsing the diet tablets.

The quote said: “All my life I’ve been passionate about taking care of my weight due to the pressures of Hollywood to stay young and look fit.
