Meghan Markle due date: Duchess of Sussex to give birth THIS MONTH – but when?

The royal baby is due to be born in April and their arrival will bring a close to Meghan’s high profile pregnancy. The Duchess of Sussex’s every pregnancy move has been eagerly watched by royal fans around the world. But many details about the baby have been kept under wraps.

We still don’t know the sex of the baby or where Meghan Markle, 37, plans to give birth.

Some think she will choose to follow in the footsteps of Princess Diana and Kate Middleton who both had their children in London’s private maternity ward, the Lindo wing.

But Meghan has broken away from royal traditions before and a source has suggested she will choose to have her baby elsewhere.

A source told The Sun: “This child will not be born at the Lindo.

“The talk of all the senior clinicians there is that Meghan doesn’t want to copy what Kate did.”

They added: “Harry and Meghan realise there is intense public interest but this baby is not a direct heir to the throne and they want the birth to be as private as possible.

“Meghan is nervous about complications such as an emergency Caesarean and doesn’t want the pressure of having to look immaculate on the hospital steps just hours later.

“Like any anxious first-time mum, she’s worried about the birth itself.

“As she is over 35, she is considered a slightly older mum — which sometimes can lead to some complications.

“Meghan also has the added stress of the world’s attention on her — everyone wants to catch the first glimpse of the new royal addition.

“She and Harry have decided that rather than go somewhere as public as the Lindo they will allow Meghan to recover somewhere more private.

“She just wants a normal, natural birth and to bond with her baby, without being primped and blow-dried to within an inch of her life just for the pictures.”

Regardless of where Meghan decides to give birth, there’s also a lot of speculation around her due date.

April 21 is being favoured by bookies and it would mean Meghan’s baby would share a birthday with their great-grandmother, the Queen.

Ladbrokes spokesman Alex Apati said: “We’re just weeks away from welcoming Harry and Meghan’s first born into the world, and we could be doing exactly that on the Queen’s 93rd birthday.”
