Meghan Markle ‘cut me off’ – Poet REVEALS moment he met Duchess before she married Harry

Mr Manawer revealed the moment he met Meghan Markle as he appeared on Jeremy Vine On 5 and claimed the Duchess was “genuine” and “very polite”. The pair met at an event before Meghan married Prince Harry as they were working with the same people while she was still playing a role on American TV series Suits. The British poet could not confirm whether the Royal couple had already met at that point, but said he exchanged a few messages on Twitter with the actress after their meeting.

He said: “She was really polite. Very polite, honestly. It was just me, her and a few other people in a room.

“We were working with some of the same people and they told her about the work I was doing.

“She came over, had a proper conversation with me.

“A real conversation, not one of those fake ones. She was in Suits at the time and she was very genuine.

“We spoke a few times on Twitter after that as well.”

Asked if they were “Twitter buddies”, he replied: “Not any more.”

And to the question “She’s cut you off?” he responded she had “cut off everybody” since she became a member of the Royal Family.

He added: “She was very genuine and I’m very grateful to have met her when I did.”

The Duchess of Sussex, who has not been playing any acting roles since she married Prince Harry, is expecting her first child to arrive any day from now.

She has reportedly opted against asking Queen Elizabeth II’s doctors to be directly involved.

It comes amid reports that the Duchess of Sussex plans to welcome the newborn into the world at home.

According to reports, she politely declined their services as the leading doctors for the birth.

A source told the publication: “Meghan said she doesn’t want the men in suits.

“She was adamant that she wanted her own people. It did leave a few of us a little baffled.”

Another insider said: “It is slightly surprising. These people [the Queen’s doctors] are the best of the best and when it comes down to it, their role would actually be very limited in the birth itself, assuming all goes to plan.”

According to the Mail on Sunday, Meghan has instead opted for a female-led team, but the name of this doctor has not been revealed.
