Meghan Markle could give birth again next year suggests bookmaker as it offers even odds

The deal is being offered by Coral as part of its New Year odds. In May the Duchess of Sussex gave birth to her first child with Prince Harry, Archie Mountbatten-Windsor.

Reflecting his mixed heritage baby Archie holds both British and American citizenship.

According to the bookmaker the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are less likely to have a fourth child in 2020.

The royal couple already have three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

They were born in 2013, 2015 and 2018 respectively.

Coral gives odds of 2-1 on the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge announcing they are expecting another child.

Coral’s Harry Aitkenhead commented: “The Queen doesn’t seem to be planning on handing on the baton to Charles just yet and is a 10-1 chance to abdicate in 2020.

“The Royal family is growing every year now it seems and 2020 is sure to be another exciting one.

“We think Harry and Meghan are very likely to announce in the next twelve months that they are expecting a second baby, and go just evens for it.

“William and Kate are less likely according to our odds.”

Meghan and Harry were married in May 2018 at Windsor Castle’s St George’s Chapel.

The couple, who first met in July 2016, announced their engagement in November 2017.

Before joining the royal family Meghan worked as an actress, including a permanent role in US legal drama Suits.

To mark the wedding a special £5 coin was produced by the Royal Mint showing the couple together.

The Royal Mail also issued a set of commemorative stamps based on Meghan and Harry’s engagement photos.

Ahead of the service Meghan was baptised and confirmed into the Church of England by the Archbishop of Canterbury.

Separately Meghan and Harry have trademarked their Sussex Royal brand on more than 100 goods and services.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have trademarked a wide range of products including clothing, books, magazines, education activities and social care services.

The application for their Sussex Royal foundation was submitted in June.

The full list of over 100 trademarked products was published this month by the Intellectual Property Office and is available to view by the public.

It comes as Meghan and Harry are taking a six-week break from public duties after admitting they were struggling to cope with the pressures of royal life in an ITV documentary filmed during their Africa tour.

In a statement released earlier in December, a spokeswoman for the Sussexes said they were enjoying “private family time” in Canada.

They skipped Christmas with the Royal Family at Sandringham, opting to spend it with Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland.
