Meghan Markle branded ‘gutsy woman’ as high-profile figure reveals she’s a ‘huge fan’

Hillary Clinton has admitted she is a “huge” fan of Prince Harry’s wife, describing her as a “gutsy woman”. The former First Lady told The Sunday Times Magazine: “I’m a huge Meghan Markle fan.”

It comes as Hillary and her daughter Chelsea Clinton have co-authored ‘The Book of Gutsy Women’.

The book is about inspiring women throughout history.

Hillary’s latest comments about Meghan come after she described the royal as an inspiration for her charity work in a post on social media last month.

The former US presidential candidate was full of praise for how the 38-year-old is “representing the US in the UK and on the world stage”.

Hillary took to Instagram to share a snap of Meghan ahead of the launch of her fashion line with women’s charity Smart Works.

She captioned the picture: “I’m so inspired by how Meghan Markle—aka one half of @sussexroyal—is representing the U.S. in the U.K. and on the world stage.

“Meghan’s new project: Helping @SmartWorksCharity equip women who have been out of the workforce with the office essentials they need to feel confident in job interviews and beyond.

“The ability to earn their own paycheque is a key part of women’s economic, social, and cultural equality, and it can all start with some smart suits.”

Meghan launched her clothing collection for Smart Works in September.

The fashion line was created with Jigsaw, John Lewis, Marks and Spencer and her designer friend Misha Nonoo, who is rumoured to have introduced Meghan to Harry.

It included a white shirt, a black suit, a dress and a tote bag.

For every item bought during the sale, one was donated to Meghan’s patronage Smart Works.

The royal announced the fashion project during the September issue of Vogue she guest-edited.

Hillary is one of a number of high-profile figures to speak out in support of Meghan.

And the American former actress backed Hillary during the 2016 presidential race which she lost to Donald Trump.

The Sussexes also hired Sara Latham, who had previously worked for Hillary, to head up their press team earlier this year.
