Meghan Markle bombshell: Could Duchess star on Drag Race UK? RuPaul says MAYBE!

RuPaul’s Drag Race’s first UK series has landed. The popular drag queen reality show has had 11 hit series in the USA and will now see the best of Britain’s drag scene compete for the crown. The show’s beloved host and judge, RuPaul Andre Charles, 58, is a huge fan of Meghan Markle’s and is keen to have her on as a judge.

He described the Duchess of Sussex’s marriage into the royal family as “signifying a whole new era” and has praised the way Meghan “challenges the norm.”

While the judges for the UK’s first season of RuPaul have already been picked, the host said Meghan is still invited to take part in season 2.

He told the Sunday Times Magazine: “The invitation is still open for season 2.”

Heaping praise on Meghan, he added: “Meghan’s arrival in the Royal Family marks a whole new era.”

Drag Race has received a massive 34 Emmy awards in the US with high hopes it will do just as well this side of the pond.

Judges of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK will include Andrew Garfield and Black Mirror star Michaela Coel, Geri Horner and Cheryl.

Comedians Graham Norton and Alan Carr will appear as rotating judges each week.

Meghan Markle’s future appearance on the show has not been ruled out but it would certainly be a royal first.

However, the American Duchess has repeatedly proven she is not afraid to break the mould.

Meghan and Prince Harry arrived back in the UK today following a 10-day Africa tour.

The official trip was their first tour as parents and they took little Archie Harrison along with them.

Fans were delighted to see the four-month-old tot out and about with his parents for the first time.

Archie Harrison cooed in Meghan’s lap when she and Harry took him to meet Archbishop Desmond Tutu with them.

The modern royals were open and affectionate towards many of the people they met during the tour.

They hugged adults and children alike and even danced with members of their welcome party.

While Meghan and Harry’s tactile approach may have ruffled feathers among traditionalists they clearly appealed to a younger audience and helped to strengthen ties within the Commonwealth.

Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams told Express.co.uk last Friday: “The way Meghan and Harry have handled their tour in South Africa so far has been uniquely informal, from hugging and dancing to Meghan not wearing her engagement ring.”

He added: “This is unusual for a royal tour but the Sussexes have already shown they do things their way.

“Their main appeal is clearly to the young and it is brilliantly unorthodox.”
