The Queen’s former press secretary Dickie Arbiter took to Twitter this morning to ask other social media users whether they were also experiencing problems with their orders of the anticipated book focused on Meghan and Harry. Mr Arbiter wrote: “I pre-ordered this on #Amazon last week and yesterday was told the order had been cancelled by the publishers. 

“Anyone else had this problem?”

Following Mr Arbiter’s tweet, other royal fans who pre-ordered the book stepped up to say they also received an email announcing the cancellation of their orders.

One social media user published on Twitter an email sent from Amazon in regards to the cancellation of an order of the Kindle version of Finding Freedom.

It read: “The release of the item in the order below has been cancelled by the publisher and we have cancelled your pre-order. 

“You won’t be charged for items that are cancelled.

“We apologise for any inconvenience.”

Another Twitter user said to have noticed other people complaining about this issue online.

They wrote: “I’ve seen this with other people as well. I thought it was a hoax. I guess not!” 

Omid Scobie, one of the co-authors of the book, replied to one of the Twitter users asking why the publisher, Harper Collins, had cancelled their order of the Kindle edition of the book.

Mr Scobie replied: “I’ve just been told there was an error with the Kindle listing on Amazon UK.

“If you search for the book again and reorder it should be fine”.

Express.co.uk has contacted both Harper Collins and Amazon for a comment.

Royal correspondent Mr Scobie worked on this book alongside with Carolyn Durand, an Emmy Awards winning producer and royal author.

To write this book, titled Finding Freedom: Harry and Meghan and the Making of a Modern Royal Family, the authors were given “unique access” and received the help of “those closest to the couple”, as stated by Harper Collins.

Set to be released in August, the book promises to “portray the real Harry and Meghan”, the authors said.  

In a statement, Mr Scobie and Ms Durand said: “The aim of this book is to portray the real Harry and Meghan, a couple who continue to inspire many around the world through their humanitarian and charitable work but are often inaccurately portrayed.

“Our mission has been motivated by a desire to tell an accurate version of their journey and finally present the truth of misreported stories that have become gospel simply because of the amount of times they have been repeated.

“It is thanks to our sources that we have been able to share the definitive story of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.”

News a tell-all book on Meghan and Harry was to be published sparked a lively discussion on social media over the weekend, with one royal expert asking to which extent Finding Freedom would share similarities with Andrew Morton’s Diana: Her True Story. 

Canadian royal expert Patricia Treble wrote on Twitter: “It will be interesting to see the extent of Harry and Meghan’s involvement (or not) in this book.

“Perhaps Diana: Her True Story for the next generation?”

In her tell-all book, the late Princess of Wales laid bare her thoughts on her marriage and spoke about the relationship between Camilla Parker Bowles and Prince Charles.
